We've been building this for about a year.
The idea started from something personal — a habit Kate and I had of asking each other questions. Not as a therapy exercise. Just as a thing we did. In the car. At dinner. At the end of a long day when neither of us had the energy to explain everything, but one good question could open it all up.
We looked for an app that did this well. We didn't find one.
There were apps with points. Apps with streaks. Apps that wanted you to rate your emotional state on a slider before you got to the question. Apps that interrupted the conversation to remind you to come back tomorrow.
We wanted something that got out of the way.
GoDeeper is a quiet app. Twelve decks of questions — for couples, friends, family, first dates, teams. You pull a card. You read it out loud. The conversation takes it from there.
No notifications. No scores. No algorithm deciding what you should talk about next.
We built it because we wanted it to exist. That's the whole story.
